Executive Vice President of Growth
Sage Hotel Management
Ken Widmaier, Sage Hotel Management’s Executive Vice President of Growth, is a tortured Raiders fan in the middle of downtown Denver. Ken, who served as COO of Sage Hotel Management for six years, is an accomplished industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience. Ken, along with his team, is actively focused on building and executing a robust pipeline of management agreements for Sage with a particular emphasis on the independent, soft-branded and lifestyle segments.
Prior to Sage, Ken spent more than 20 years at Destination Hotels & Resorts as the Senior VP of Operations and was responsible for a portfolio of 12 hotels and $300 million in annual revenue. During his time at Destination, Widmaier developed expertise in long-term planning and strategic direction for both new and existing properties. Ken also spent 15 years with Marriott, where he honed his operational expertise.
Ken is a graduate of Florida International University. In line with Sage’s commitment to the community, he is on the Advisory Board for the Tourism program at Colorado State University in Fort Collins and is a guest lecturer at the College of Charleston. Additionally, he is a former member of the Board of Trade and Federal City Council in Washington D.C. and Rotary International.
